This handmade blue, mottled grey cup with a chocolate rim, sports a modern version of a traditional vine print.
While this style of cup is popularly used for tea these days, its shape was once only used for soba noodles.
We purchased this Setoyaki pottery tea cup in a small pottery town in Aichi prefecture, not far from Nagoya. It uses a modern stencil printing method.
