This large handmade ceramic cup, is more organic in shape than it feels - and fits naturally into the palm of a lightly clasped hand.
Glazed in cream and chocolate with the pale terracotta clay peeking through in parts, it is tinged with a peach hue, and looking carefully, there's a faint glassy green glaze over the top around the rim.
It's large enough to hold a decent size coffee but also suits a frosty Japanese beer!
*The second cup is not included in this price, but it is by the same artist so they make a striking duo. If you think you need them both - you can find the other one here!
This Tambayaki cup was purchased from an artists' co-op near Kyoto.
8cm diameter across the top at the widest part
13 cm tall
Handle carefully. Avoid microwave.
**Price includes shipping in Australia
OK, so I was planning to keep these three ceramic beauties from Kyoto because... LOVE!!!!!! As such, I didn't photograph them separately (or did I ...??) If you are brave...
The layered Sankai ceramic bowl is so deliciously moody it comes in two variations... the original has a straight edge and smooth foot while the variant is purposely wonky around...
