This small, earthy dish shows off a greenish-brown glaze, highlighted with splashes of pale blue-grey in parts. The base is a raw reddish clay and the overall effect of the layering is rather handsome.
The hand-made vessel has a textured finish and tiny chrysanthemums are etched over the inside base.
It would make a fabulous gift as it can be used as a wide sake cup and feels great cupped with both hands. Of course you can use it at the table for small portions of food eg pickles, sweets etc - or dress up a side board or bed side table - or pop trinkets or stationery items in it on your home office desk.
