Hishaku Wooden Incense Burner

Resembling a scoop or ladle, these beautifully designed and superbly hand-crafted wooden Hishaku incense holders are made by the Asahikawa wood artisans of Hokkaido. They would add an elegant addition to any living space, burning the organic incense they were made to hold.

Japanese incense is of the highest quality - made from pure materials including wood, bark and resin from naturally aromatic trees and heady spices - it just feels right to pair it with another piece of respectfully handled tree.

These exquisite wooden incense burners feature a brass recess, only for the thinner style of Senkō, or incense stick, though for the thicker style we are including a rounded stone receptacle.

They look amazing in both traditional and contemporary spaces.

Please note that in bright sunlight the wood takes on a warmer glow. Images 2 and 4 give you a slightly better idea of the natural colour.

These incense burners come in a 'darkwood' and 'blondewood' colouration as outlined below.
