This handsome Japanese ceramic cup is in the style originally used for soba but now commonly used for tea (chawan).
We called this cup Blue Poles in tribute to a certain well-loved art piece. Arita-yaki (ceramics from Arita, Kyushu) are an artform in themselves and regarded as some of the finest and highest quality porcelain crafted in Japan.
This contemporary design featuring striking blue lines upon a clean white background is a high gloss ceramic and will appeal to those who prefer to drink from chinaware as opposed to a more rustic, textured ceramic.
We won't tell anyone if you choose to drink something other than tea from it... This size cup works for wine and sake too!
