Obijime - tricolour

  • These gorgeous braided or woven 100% silk cords are used as the top layer tie over wider obi's. They traditionally 'finish' the look of the layered Kimono ensemble but we like to use them to tie kimono we wear as robes or dressing gowns. I've used them instead of a chain for bold jewellery - and they can look great as a thin belt over a simple dress. I've seen people use them as curtain ties too!

This vintage obijime (or kumihimo as the braided type are known) is thicker than most of our stocked obijime and being tri-coloured it picks up on details in autumnal hued fabric.

    Condition - Excellent.
