Icing Glaze Sake Cup

These two beautiful guinomi (sake cups) first caught our eye in Shigaraki and we have admired their rich, thick milk-white Shinoyaki style glaze ever since.

The two cups possess an individual character of their own. The potter has left their personal touch on the base of the shorter cup in the form of exposed bare clay finger marks or yubi ato, whilst the taller cup features distinctive small pin holes in the glaze, called suana or nest holes.

Beautiful to drink from, they could also be used for wine or straight spirits or tea -  if you must. You could also use them for condiments or jewellery.

We have priced them separately but together they would make a beautiful gift... we're thinking white wedding...  Anniversary. Special shared occasion - or just because you LOVE THEM like we do!
